Hey kiddies its been a while, ive been had my head craned toward the particle physics comunity eagerly waiting in anticipation of the LHC in switzerland. its been put around by many physists as revolutionary answers and a potential doorway to completely new science and by some un-informed scaremongers as "the end of the world" hmmm well were not dead yet are we? i wanna put these people straight...
the "black hole particles" that will be created are so infetesimaly small that you would have to run the lhc constantly for thousands of years to swallow up any noticeable amount of mass from the earth. Richard Feynman put it very well when hes likened particle physics to chess with different rules being the laws of physics and obviously particles, we may watch the game being played and the pieces being moved and so we learn how the game works. Well imagine a chess board 10^-1000 by 10^1000 and your only lookin at a 6 by 6 square now if each piece makes every possible move on the board eventually we will see every piece's move and so learn but 6 is only a tiny fraction of 10^1000 and as such we may learn all the properties but with little or no significant danger... so stop panicking people...
